An anxiety attack is not any formal or clinical term. It is the term used by most people in order to describe all those things like fear, anxiety etc. The worrying of an event or the fear and intense feeling are all common things in an anxiety attack. To understand the anxiety attack completely, one has to understand the symptoms of this problem.
Perceived Threats Of Anxiety Attack
An anxiety attack can be a response to unknown or unprecise threats. For example, imagine that you are walking on a lonely road. You start to feel certain uneasiness and start to panic without any reason. This type of anxiety attack relates to fear that a stranger will jump out of bush suddenly.
You may also think someone will approach you and harm you in some other way. The anxiety attack is not due to the known or specific threats that you think. It rather comes out from the vision of your mind that imagines the dangers of the situation. The symptoms that you experience may be beneficial and normal.

Sometimes the anxiety attacks are experiences of normal life that makes us feel anxious. These types of experiences include getting married, taking any exams, getting divorced, coping with illness etc. The discomfort that the person feels due to this anxiety problems are normal and can be beneficial for mental health. For example, the anxiety of taking an exam will make you work harder for preparation of the exam.
Anxiety Attacks That Are Really Panic Attacks
Have you ever faced any intense terror or intense feeling, for no reason? If your answer is yes then it is a panic attack. However, if you keep on experiencing these disorders continuously then you may have panic disorder. Panic disorder can be the sign of hidden mental health or medical problems.
It may be a sound sleep disorder, depression or post-traumatic stress disorder. A panic attack can be quite confusing for those who experience it. Such attacks are sudden and come with extreme physical sensations. This makes the person believe that they are suffering from serious medical conditions. This is because the physical sensations that occur are similar to many physical conditions.
The symptoms of a panic attack may include pounding heart, sweating, shaking of the body, shortness in breathing, chest pain, feeling of choking, numbness and fear of dying etc.
If you see any of these anxiety problems in you then consult a doctor as soon as you can. Anxiety problems are sometimes beneficial for the mental health but not always. If it occurs frequently then it is a serious issue.
